IP5 — Ipamorelin 5mg
Selective growth hormone secretagogue receptor agonist — research-grade pentapeptide.
What is IP5?
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide and selective growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R) agonist. Unlike earlier GHRPs, Ipamorelin is notable for its high selectivity — it stimulates GH release without significantly affecting cortisol, prolactin, or ACTH levels, making it a valuable research tool for studying the GH axis in isolation.
Key Features
- High receptor selectivity — minimal off-target hormonal effects
- Well-characterised pharmacological profile
- Ideal for GH axis isolation studies
- Verified purity ≥98% by RP-HPLC
Mechanism of Action
Ipamorelin binds to the GHS-R1a receptor (ghrelin receptor) in the pituitary and hypothalamus, triggering a dose-dependent release of growth hormone. Its selectivity profile means researchers can study GH secretion pathways without the confounding hormonal effects seen with earlier GHRP compounds. It also acts synergistically with GHRH analogues.
Research Applications
- GH secretagogue receptor (GHS-R) pharmacology
- Pituitary GH release mechanism studies
- GH/IGF-1 axis investigation
- Synergistic studies with GHRH analogues
- Selective receptor agonism research
