AOD9604 5mg
Fragment 176-191 of human growth hormone — research peptide for fat metabolism studies.
What is AOD9604?
AOD9604 is a stabilised synthetic analogue of the C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone, corresponding to amino acids 176–191 of the hGH sequence. It was originally developed to isolate the lipolytic (fat-metabolising) properties of hGH without the growth-promoting and insulin-desensitising effects of the full-length hormone.
Key Features
- Isolated lipolytic activity without GH receptor binding
- No effect on IGF-1 or insulin sensitivity
- Well-characterised fragment of native hGH
- High purity ≥98% verified by RP-HPLC
Mechanism of Action
AOD9604 mimics the way natural hGH regulates fat metabolism by stimulating lipolysis (breakdown of fat) and inhibiting lipogenesis (fat formation). Unlike full-length hGH, it does not bind to the GH receptor and does not affect IGF-1 levels or insulin sensitivity. This selective activity makes it a valuable tool for studying adipose tissue biology in isolation from the broader GH axis.
Research Applications
- Adipose tissue lipolysis mechanism studies
- Lipogenesis inhibition pathway research
- Selective hGH fragment pharmacology
- Body composition and fat metabolism research
- Comparative hGH fragment activity studies
